The Annual Inter house Debate Competition was held in the school auditorium on October 1st, 2024. The debates provide an excellent platform for students to develop their public speaking skills and improve their critical analysis and teamwork.

The relevance of the topic in today’s modern day issues prompted engaging discussions that allowed participants to delve into complex ethical and social issues.
The competition featured Narmada (for the motion) and Cauvery (against the motion) on the first topic, while Sutlej (for the motion) and Godavari (against the motion) on the second topic. Each team delivered well-researched arguments, impressively engaging the audience and demonstrating their understanding of the subjects.
The judges for the event were esteemed alumni Mr. Ranganathan Subrahmanyam and Ms. Vaishnavi Subrahmanyam. Mr. Subrahmanyam works with India Cements while Ms. Subrahmanyam is an advocate. It was an honor to have such experienced judges who could share their insights. Their kindness and encouragement were evident as they posed thoughtful questions, motivating deeper thought and exploration of the topics at hand.
Every participant displayed their confidence and talent as they expressed their views of the topic following the British format of debate and even answering questions while firmly holding their stance in the debate. This experience significantly contributes to their overall skill set, equipping them for future challenges that they could face in the world.
